Flying Cliffs (60, 66) - The Flying Cliffs rise up 200 feet from the ocean below, and on certain days, strong winds blowing in just the right direction create an updraft that allows thrill-seekers to soar to the top. People from all over the world travel here to test their courage and ingenuity, devising all kinds of artificial wings to accomplish the task. Some use cloth attached to wooden scaffolding, while others sew feathers to stiff cloaks. But the risks are great, and a falter in the wind can lead to a fatal plunge into the ocean below. Despite the dangers, the Flying Cliffs have become a legendary site for adventurers and daredevils, with tales of record-breaking ascents and epic failures.
